Fiscal Sector Working Group (FSWG)

The FSWG is a forum for fiscal policy discussions, with emphasis on issues related to fiscal development, public financial management reforms and the coordination of donor disbursements for recurrent expenditures.

This group has a two-tiered structure: a full Sector Working Group consisting of all donors contributing donor support for recurrent expenditures, which meets in line with quarterly reporting on the PA national plans; and a Task Force Group consisting of donors who have committed or disbursed more than US$ 20 million.

The key functions of the FSWG are as follows:

  • assist donors in aligning assistance in relation to the PA national plans and strategies for the sector;
  • coordinate and harmonize donor assistance;
  • carry out coordinated and strategic dialogue with the purpose of identifying PA priorities and the readiness/availability of the donor community to provide funding;
  • function as the main source of information for PA needs and achievements, donor funding and gaps.

  • The FSWG reports to the Economic Strategy Group (ESG) on a regular basis.

    Membership in the group is limited to donors providing budget support to the PA and relevant PA institutions.
